September 29, 2014: Language Arts 7

Today students began with 15 minutes of class time to either read silently or complete their Personal Identities assignment.

Students and myself then gathered in a circle to read through chapter 7 of White Jade Tiger.   Students were asked to generate one recall and respond question and one critical thinking question.

A recall and respond question might be:
What alley does Jasmine find herself in when she takes the secret door?

A critical thinking question might be:
How might you feel if you found yourself in the same situation?  Explain.

After lunch, students were asked to begin writing their graduation letters to themselves.  This is a Pender tradition, where students write a letter to themselves which they will then receive upon graduation in grade 12.

Students then did some rhythm practice and viewed a french horn.
