En 9: Reminders from Wednesday January 4 2012

Today we began by watching a clip from You Tube:

We then discussed why it is that the men and women chose the given doors.

To follow, we discussed some gender stereotypes:

Girls always smell good.
Girls take forever to do anything.
Guys are stronger.
Guys are better at sports.
etc...

We then watched another clip:

Students then put the following stereotypes in order:


Place the following stereotypes in order, from the most to least destructive:

Men make better astronauts.

Black people are better athletes.

  Homeless people are lazy.

Women make better parents.

Teenagers don’t take anything seriously.

Dogs are more loyal than cats.

Finally, we watched this clip:


Students then completed a paragraph of about 8 sentences, predicting how the students might react the next day.  Also, I wanted students to touch on how they learned about discrimination in this paragraph.
