Students were then able to read any unfinished poems from last class.
Students had the opportunity to practice their writing skills further by creating a running thought sequence of a fight scene using either Cole or Peter's perspective from Touching Spirit Bear.
First students generated a list of emotions that both characters may have felt.
Next, the class came up with two topic sentences: one for Peter and one for Cole.
Students were then asked to choose one of the characters to write a paragraph using first person, present tense. Students were asked to imagine themselves in character during the fight and to provide a running record of the thoughts of the character.
