Language Arts 7

Today students and I began the class by refreshing ourselves on the bullet points that were taken from last class on the prank we watched online.  We used this information to write a class "how-to" paragraph.  This can be seen below:

Urination Prank

Have you ever wanted to get revenge through urination?  To do the urination prank, first you will need supplies.  It’s important to pretend you are unable to see and hear for this prank.  So, you will want a blind walking stick and dark sunglasses, as well as headphones.  You will also need a tube that connects with water, because there is no actual urination taking place.  You are also going to pretend you don’t know where you are, so you should look like a tourist and have a back-pack.  After you have your supplies, you should find a popular water park.  Once there, find the lazy river, if there is no river, find a popular slide.  To set up you must place the tube through the fly of your pants and have some type of water squirting device.  Wait until someone comes along and then begin squirting the water.  Be prepared to make a run for it!  If you want to make the prank even better do it on a sunny day where people are relaxed and use apple juice instead of water.

When finished we used this as a model to write a paragraph on how to make baking powder biscuits.  Students were then responsible for each writing a paragraph on this topic, of which we will actually make on Friday.

After lunch, students either finished their paragraphs or read novels.

We then worked through our band method books.
