English 8

Students began class with a journal entry.

Students then created a class web outlining what they feel is important to them.  We then discussed whether or not popularity is important in a school setting.  We then looked through a document outlining how to be popular in school and assessed its relevance and worth.

Students then considered children from other parts of the world.  After discussing child slavery, we watched a portion of a documentary about child forced into the chocolate trade in Africa.

We then read an article featuring Iqbal Masih, who we will begin reading about next class.
