Students created two mind maps, one outlining features of personal identity and the other on types of social groupings:

In journals, students then answered the question: How are you influenced by social groups?


Students were then shown a slide show of the great depression and migrant workers.

For homework, students were asked to read chapter 1 in Of Mice and Men.
