Socials 10

Today students began by completing a quiz on the forces leading to confederation.

We then collectively, looked at a quotation from JFK and attempted to analyze its meaning:

"We would like to live as we once lived, but history will not permit it."  JFK.

Students then were asked to answer the following question after having time to read p.48-52 in the green handbook:

In order to answer this question, students needed to break down what was being asked.  They essentially needed to understand what Responsible Government meant, as well as Lord Durham's impact on early Canadian politics.

Students orally answered the question previously asked.  Students will be expected to answer this in a couple of sentences next class on the quiz.

Finally, students worked on completing their fake book pages on their chosen Father of Confederation.  We still have one Father who is outstanding:

There will be a quiz on Forces Leading to and Fathers of Confederation next class.
