Students began the class today by taking down definitions of the final elements of fiction which we will be discussion this unit:

Students were then asked to read a selected passage from "The Lottery" (after having had time to preview) aloud.  Students were assessed on their fluency.

Finally, students were asked to choose a short selection from the story "The Lottery" and in small groups highlight an element of fiction.  Unfortunately, due to the actions of a couple of students, we were forced inside to work on a review package instead.
