EN 10: Reminders from May 7 2012

Today students completed the play, The Crucible.  Students then watched a teacher edit of four student paragraphs.
Next, students discussed the use of pride in the play:

  • refusal to admit witchcraft
  • John doesn't want his name shown on the church door
  • Elizabeth doesn't admit that her husband is a lecher
  • Hale returns to Salem through guilt
  • Abigail, at first, denies her naughty behaviour in the woods
  • Abigail claims that her name is still good in the town
Finally, students wrote a topic sentence to start them off for tomorrow's class, where we will write a full paragraph on instances of pride in The Crucible.
