EN 10: Reminders from May 22 2012

Today students practiced paragraph form.  We looked at five different ways in which to create a flowing sequence within a paragraph:
chronological
emphatic
cause and effect
compare and contrast
spatial

Students then looked at sample paragraphs and identified each topic sentence, the topic, transition words, sentences that did not fit the topic, and the type of paragraph sequence used.

Next, students studied the painting, Examination of a Witch by T H Matteson (1853).

Students wrote for fifteen minutes on the following matter:

Discuss this picture in relation to the play, The Crucible.

Finally, students watched a further section of the movie, The Crucible.
