We began by writing down the definitions and examples of the following provincially examinable terms:
Alliteration
Allusion
Antagonist
Antithesis
We then looked at parts of speech, focusing on nouns (common, proper, collective, abstract, concrete). Students watched a short clip and then practiced on a handout. Students then read a handout on paragraph structure and we discussed what makes an effective descriptive paragraph. Students finally looked at pictures and orally discussed what they saw.
